Call for Panel Proposals – IPSA World Congress 2027 :

RC53 Indigenous Politics

The Call for Panels is now open for the 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science, to be held in Rome, Italy, from 24–28 July 2027 under the theme

“Uncertain Democracies: Rethinking Governance in a Changing Global System.”

RC53 Indigenous Politics warmly invites our members and all scholars working on Indigenous politics, governance, self-determination, representation, rights, resurgence, decolonisation, Indigenous methodologies, and related topics to submit panel proposals to the RC53 track.

This is an excellent opportunity to bring together colleagues, build international networks, and showcase emerging and established research in Indigenous Politics within the global political science community.

Key deadlines:
• Open Panel proposals: 26 August 2026
• Closed Panel proposals: 4 November 2026

Open panels are submitted without papers and later receive paper submissions, while closed panels are pre-organised and include 4–6 recruited papers.

RC53 was established to advance the study of Indigenous politics and to expand Indigenous worldviews and philosophies within political science. We encourage proposals that engage Indigenous political thought, practices, institutions, and struggles across diverse contexts.
